Cheryl Walker is a dedicated practice leader for Progressive AE’s learning and community markets. She has more than 25 years of experience working with higher education and civic clients including UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Greensboro, Johnson C. Smith University, UNC-Ashville, Central Piedmont Community College, the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
Over the past two decades Cheryl has volunteered with numerous professional and community organizations including the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), and the North Carolina Board of Architecture. She has been the recipient of multiple professional awards including the NCARB Presidential Medal for Distinguished Service, the AIA North Carolina William H. Deitrick Service Medal, and the McColl Center for Art + Innovation Luminary Award. In 2009, Walker was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows, the highest honor bestowed by the organization.
