Paul has over 33 years of experience assessing, evaluating, and applying data to develop sustainable and proven plans for over 120 lakes throughout Michigan. He oversees four teams of aquatic biologists to devise ecologically-sound, scientifically proven, and innovative strategies to manage a myriad of issues facing water resources in the 21st century.

Not only is Paul committed to providing the most current technology and techniques, but he constantly strives to educate clients. He listens carefully to understand issues and opportunities, then works collaboratively with stakeholders to develop sustainable and climate resilient solutions. Because of the empathy and respect Paul demonstrates, he is viewed as a trusted advisor and mentor for clients and team members.

As a recognized thought leader, Paul has presented at the Michigan Lakes and Streams Association, Midwest Aquatic Plant Management Society, and National Aquatic Plant Management Society. Topics have included fishery and aquatic invasive species control, collaborative research on invasive aquatic plant management, using bioassays to effectively manage tolerance issues in select milfoil biotypes, and large-scale application of alum to inland lakes.

Notable clients include Diamond Lake Association, Marble-Coldwater Lake Improvement Board, Sanford Lake Improvement Board, Stone Lake Improvement Board, Village of Wolverine Lake, and Wixom Lake Improvement Board.

“Solving water resources problems requires the use of sound and sustainable scientific principles while always being mindful and respectful of the unique ecology of a given body of water,” says Paul.

Paul has achieved certification in wetlands delineation from the Wetland Training Institute and a National Shoreline Professional Certification from Michigan State University. He has completed specialized training courses and graduate level university courses in ecology and natural resources management.

He previously served as president of the Midwest Aquatic Management Society and served on its board of directors for 11 years.
