As a principal of the firm and a senior project manager, Tom plays a significant role in developing client relationships, making community connections, and mentoring future leaders within the firm. He has built a 25-year career providing exceptional client service, collaborating with design and construction teams, and solving problems.

By working with a variety of client and project types through the years, Tom has accumulated diverse experience, expertise, and credibility to overcome challenges and obstacles. Tom’s ability to listen, learn, and fully understand clients’ goals and aspirations enables him to drive targeted and purposeful outcomes.  

Building healthy client relationships is critically important to Tom. In fact, he has built a 25-year client relationship with Ferris State University and Kent ISD, along with a 15-year relationship with Grand Rapids Community College. Other notable clients include Amway Grand Plaza, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI), Flexco Manufacturing, Holland Energy Park, Bently Community Schools, Kent City Community Schools, and Vicinity.

“I love collaborating with a team to identify the root cause of an issue or problem in a building or system,” says Tom. “Then we can strategically design to solve for it.”

Tom is a licensed engineer in 32 States, including the jurisdictions of Washington DC and Puerto Rico, and is a licensed residential builder in Michigan. He also manages the firm’s licensures and corporate registrations outside of Michigan.
