Working with a four-week project timeline and a limited budget in an occupied building, Progressive AE gave a fresh face to this building interior in Uptown Charlotte with strategic, value-driven improvements. The design team cleaned up the busy lines of the existing interior and added warmth by introducing more light and a softer material palette. The resulting design gives the owner and building manager a property that can easily compete with neighboring office buildings in the area.

Renovated areas at street level include new wall coverings, lighting fixtures, signage and wayfinding for the security desk, main elevator lobby, and food vendor area (occupied by Hazelnut Crêperie). The design team added a small, lounge-like sitting area with views to Tryon Street, creating a comfortable place to wait or have a quick meeting. Café tables along the curved wall by the crêperie provide additional space to meet or dine.

On upper floors, new carpet, wall coverings, and lighting fixtures update tenant elevator lobbies and corridors. Restrooms received new wall and floor tile and stall partitions. To brighten and add a feeling of spaciousness in the restrooms without requiring a major architectural intervention, Progressive AE added tall mirrors paired with new lighting fixtures and removed a soffit ceiling over the toilets.
