The Art Van Sports Complex is a baseball and softball complex with a total of 9 fields including a Championship Field and Miracle Field. The Miracle Field, part of the West Michigan Miracle League, is a smaller, hard-surface field that allows children with mental and physical disabilities to participate in baseball. The project is being built in two phases. Following the completion of phase two, the complex will have a total of 12 fields.

Objective

The West Michigan Sports Commission wanted to create a top quality baseball and softball complex to promote West Michigan as the premier venue for hosting a diverse level of youth and amateur sporting events, including high school state championships. The project also would enhance the economy and quality of life in the region.

Outcome

The Art Van Sports Complex is the premiere championship baseball and softball complex in West Michigan. The complex is home to the first Miracle Field in the Grand Rapids area which gives local children with disabilities the opportunity to participate in baseball. The facility is fully booked for the upcoming season.
