Colliers International is a leading commercial real estate brokerage and investment management company. The company’s Charlotte office focuses on providing seamless results through a full range of services to real estate users, owners and investors in the Queen City and surrounding North and South Carolina counties.
For this project, Colliers wanted to move out of their current subleased space and into a larger, more integrated office that would bring together multiple departments under one roof. They wanted to unify the team in a space that would serve both employees and clients, providing a beautiful and professional look that better represents the parent brand. Colliers offices around the country vary in look and feel, so the design team had freedom to integrate unique lighting fixtures, colors, and other design elements to match the industrial space.
Objectives
- Create a welcoming, unified space for employees and clients that represents the professional brand
- Bring together separate departments in a common office that provides for group connection and collaboration
- Elevate the office’s look and feel from previous subleased space
Outcomes
The new office has an industrial feel with modern, clean lines and a high open ceiling. The design team utilized angular shapes and lines to lead guests and employees through the office. The Colliers sign welcomes guests with RGB changeable lights and sits above a geometric desk leading towards a coffee hospitality area. Next to the hospitality area, a large conference room with colored banded glass leads the eye through the space and provides a feeling of transparency. The conference room contains a large area rug to soften the concrete flooring and features a unique criss-crossed lighting element over the conference table. Perforated wood paneling makes up the far wall of the conference room. In the main break area, employees can entertain clients and meet as a group, creating greater community within the office.
