As a long time design consultant for this global workplace and manufacturing client, Progressive AE was tasked with completing this renovation project which included the demolition of a 2nd floor slab to create a 2-story volume workplace lounge. The 2-story lounge space incorporated full height glass that overlooks the manufacturing process, a tasting room and bar area, a suspended spiral staircase connecting the experience space with the workplace, and electronic and printed media throughout representing corporate branding and products. This branded experience was designed both for visiting guests and clients, as well as the primary workforce of the product team.

With the client’s corporate organization in a state of transformation from its historical past into a primarily digital presence, the resulting space represents the first translation of how space reflects the desired future state in a strategically branded environment.

This project was awarded a 2021 AIA design award for interior architecture from the AIA Grand Rapids and the AIA Charlotte.
