The Kruizenga Art Museum on the campus of Hope College in Holland, MI, enhances the role of the college’s permanent collection with a new home, making the collection accessible for teaching and research across disciplines. The museum provides the necessary space and resources to view and conduct teaching and research on works of art from around the word and spanning centuries.

The project includes two exhibit galleries, conference rooms, prep spaces, staging areas and storage for the 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works of art. Tight environmental controls including temperature, relative humidity and controlled natural light, were incorporated into the building systems. Creative solutions for gallery support, such as flexible lighting, HVAC delivery, and fire protection piping, were purposefully integrated into the building design.
