Designed with historic architectural elements to blend into established residential neighborhood. Village concept around village green. Common kitchen, living, study and meeting areas in each townhome. Designed for LEED certification and completed under budget.

Objective

Hope College was in need of new housing to support enrollment growth. The new housing needed to accommodate eight to 10 students per building and fit into the adjacent residential neighborhood.

Outcome

The resulting project is a series of four buildings arranged around a "Village Green." Two duplexes and two singles comprise the building mix. Each unit accommodates 10 students in shared bedrooms and commons, lounges, study areas and community kitchen.
