The Kerry Group, an Irish food ingredients company, solicited CSM Group to manage the $18.1 million expansion of its facility in Rochester, Minnesota. This addition is the first phase of an overall $28.6 million project.
The project includes a 5,300-square-foot addition to the existing facility, which will house a new spray dryer plus two 10,000-gallon dryer feed tanks.
Kerry’s Rochester facility makes fermented ingredients, which include lactic acid bacteria for processed meat and cultured dairy products, cultured ingredients for extending a product’s shelf-life, and cultural dairy solids for stabilizing ice cream as well as improving “mouth feel.”
