Welcome Tod R. Stevens, AIA! New Learning Practice Leader
Progressive AE has hired industry expert, Tod R. Stevens, AIA, as a dedicated practice leader in the learning market. Stevens will advance Progressive AE’s commitment to serving existing higher education clients, while also attracting new clients in the marketplace. He has 25 years’ experience and is credited for over 20 award-winning projects. He is a pursued speaker and presenter.
“We are making a significant investment to bolster our expertise, experience-base and portfolio in the learning market, which means hiring the best and brightest,” said Brad Thomas, President and CEO. “Tod is a subject matter expert and we’re thrilled to have him lead us forward. His addition is a value to Progressive AE, but most importantly, a value to our clients.”
Stevens comes to Progressive AE from Stantec, an international design and consulting firm where he was a principal and senior design architect leading design planning and interior teams in education architecture. Among his award-winning projects include Sangren Hall College of Education at Western Michigan University, Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons at Grand Valley State University, Phyllis Fratzk Early Childhood Learning Laboratory at Grand Rapids Community College, College of Education at Old Dominion University, and the Math and Physics Building at University of Texas at Dallas.
“I truly believe in the importance of education and the transformational powers it has on an individual’s life, and society as a whole,” said Stevens. “Making the career move to Progressive AE aligns my personal beliefs with a firm that values the learning market and is committed to creating environments which foster growth and development.”
Stevens possesses a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University, a Master of Architecture from The University of Michigan, and has continued his professional development in Executive Education in Campus Master Planning, Child Development Centers, and Planning and Design of Libraries from Harvard University.
