101 Best and Brightest Elite Award Winner
Each year, the Michigan Business & Professional Association identifies the 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in West Michigan based on corporate and employee input.  Progressive AE has made this list for the last three years.  This year, we were also acknowledged as an Elite winner in the category of Work-Life Balance.  Only 11 companies from the 101 earn this Elite designation.  We were chosen because of having an on-site fitness center and trainer; the C.R.E.W. (Community Relationships Environment and Wellness) events; our innovative wellness program; and services we offer our employees like personal postal and IT assistance.

Progressive AE to Host Judging for Natural Talent Design Competition for West Michigan USGBC Chapter
Progressive AE will host the judges in our office for the 2008 Natural Talent Design Competition.  This competition is for university level students (of any discipline and level) and individuals within five years of graduation and provides an applied learning experience in the principles of integrated design, sustainability, innovation, and social conscious within the A/E industry.

The "client" this year is Grand Rapids Public Schools, specifically Brookside Elementary.  GRPS has a commitment to be good stewards of the environment while modernizing its school buildings, including building and construction consistent with LEED certification.  This competition challenge offers students the option to design a LEED-EB Platinum or LEED for Schools, new construction elementary school building and site which will connect with the adjacent Kroc Salvation Army Community Center as a multi-use focal point for the neighborhood.

Winners will be announced at an event at the Grand Rapids Art Museum on Earth Day, April 22.  This event is free and open to the public.  The top winner of the local competition will move on to compete for a national award at Greenbuild Boston 2008. More information can be found at http://chapters.usgbc.org/westmichigan/
